Napping Dilemma

When I was first pregnant, Lilly was just about to change over to a "big girl" bed. But for naps I still wanted her caged in. The only problem, though, was that she would climb out. Since I was completely exhausted, all I wanted to do at nap time was sleep and I just couldn't bare to wait a half hour for her to fall asleep. So, I decided to take her to bed with me.

Now seven months later, we are still napping together. And while I absolutely love this time together, I am also worried how it will all work when the baby arrives. My concern is that I won't be able to take a nap each day with her and that she won't sleep by herself.

So my questions are: do I allow her to still sleep in my bed or make her sleep in her bed? I feel like I should at least make her sleep in her bed at least once a week, but then I just forget to do it! And let's be honest, I love sleeping with her (currently she likes to cuddle up against my back and fall asleep...so sweet!).

So, what should I do?!?

If you do decide to have her nap back in her room you could always put a baby gate in the doorway. Then if she woke up before you she could play safely in her room until you awoke.

Regarding napping together...does she still sleep in her big girl bed at night alright? If so, I wouldn't worry about this season of napping too much. She's probably going to drop the nap soon anyway. :)

Don't tell Betsy she is going to drop the nap! She cannot accept that fact.

I agree with the baby gate. That way she can be in there before going to sleep and after and you do not have to worry about her.

RK knows me all too well! I am not sure what I would do without her taking a nap! And I am hoping it will last a little longer since she usually sleeps 2+ hours each day!!

But these are good suggestions! Any ideas on how to get her to stay in her bed ALL night long?!?!

ummmm. i'm going to email. you.
i know you did babywise. all the toddler wise & babywise 2 stuff would help you with this.

if you are wanting her to keep that nap for you well through Gage's first six months- I'd start now. you don't want her to think she's in her own bed b/c of Gage. Yikes.
